  • Saugeen Conservation Tours

    Looking for a different type of experience? Look no further than Saugeen Conservation. We offer two great tours for those looking for a little adventure! The tours, called Legends of the Great Swamp and Bootlegging Lore of the Great Swamp, take place on Saturdays throughout the spring, summer and fall seasons. Both begin in Chepstow and include tours of local Inn’s, wine and/or beer tasting, a short hike on SVCA’s unique floating boardwalk in Southern Ontario’s single largest wetland, and a full course church supper complete with all the trimmings and home-made pies! Local actors round out this experience, portraying historical characters from long ago!

    Saugeen Conservation provides many recreational opportunities within Saugeen Country. Check out any one of our day-use parks, including Sulphur Spring Conservation Area (just south of Hanover), or Allan Park Conservation Area (between Durham and Hanover). Both these nearby Conservation Areas provide plenty of great trails, picnic areas, etc. If you are looking for camping opportunities – look no further that Durham Conservation Area located right within the Town of Durham. This beautiful campsite features large, spacious sites, well-treed and private. A must see at this park is the scenic McGowan Falls! Take the family or just relax.
